Join this dive expedition company to dive the Cod Hole and Ribbon Reefs. The vessel is a custom built 30 metre twin hulled vessell and provides superb dive and guest facilities. This tour suits novice to advanced divers and guests can partake in up to 12 dives. Novice divers are given the opportunity to enhance their skills with complimentary orientation dives, and experienced divers are given the freedom to do their own thing.

This liveaboard trip commences with a low level scenic flight from Cairns to Lizard Island where you then embark for your 3 night trip. This tour showcases the Ribbon Reefs with incredible marine biodiversity, including Australia's famous Cod Hole.  We have an open dive deck policy and warm towels are available after each dive.  Our dedicated crew are friendly, professional and provide attentive service.

We have everything you need for a comfortable, enjoyable liveaboard dive expedition. Guest cabins are a combination of double and twin share cabins. All are air-conditioned and are serviced daily. Relax in the spacious lounge / bar inside, or head up to the sun deck and enjoy the view over the Coral Sea. Our award-winning food and service caters to all dietary requirements which are freshly prepared by our onboard chef.

Sample Itinerary/Dive Sites:

Scenic Flight - Cairns to Lizard Island: Imagine yourself on a spectacular ‘flying start' to Lizard Island. On the way you will have a birds-eye view of the Great Barrier Reef. Half of your 150 mile flight is at a very low 180 metres (600ft) above the sites you will dive along the Great Barrier Reef's continental shelf. A truly spectacular beginning to your expedition.

Ribbon Reefs: This 55 mile chain of reefs from Lizard Island to Cooktown is the most prized dive region of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. This is where you can see more of the Great Barrier Reef's 1,500 fish and 400 coral species than elsewhere. The currents that channel between the ribbon reefs attract large fish populations.

Marine Life Encounters: The currents that channel between the ribbon reefs attract a bigger fish population than elsewhere. Marine life encounters range from pygmy seahorses to manta rays and whales. The Great Barrier Reef has 9 species of anemone fish, 43 species of butterfly fish, 1001 species of nudibranch, and 6 of the world's 7 turtle species.

Cod Hole: One of the Great Barrier Reefs most amazing phenomenons awaits at the Cod Hole. Swim with incredibly inquisitive ‘small diver size' potato cod. Tidal currents ensure the coral growth here is very diverse. The Cod Hole's Shark Alley is a great place to see sleeping white tips in the sand and the occasional grey reef shark.

Challenger Bay: One of the Ribbon Reefs most interesting sites is Challenger Bay, a sloping reef with large sandy patches. The biodiversity here is outstanding, rich with hard and soft corals and all the associated reef fish. As well as great day diving, this is one of the most spectacular night dive sites on the GBR.

Lighthouse Bommie: Big schools of brightly coloured yellow and blue snapper cruise the top of an adjacent reef, while numerous species of anemone fish have also made it their home. During minke whale season (June to August) this is one of the best spots to see these magnificent creatures.

Acropolis: Voted 30th in the Planet's Best Dives, Acropolis is a hard coral wonderland with rolling hills of staghorn and plate corals dotted about with giant clams and anemones. The site is prolific with small fish, including chromis and fusiliers, which attract many large mackerel and tuna.

Pixie Reef: You will spend the next morning at Pixie Gardens where you may find harlequin ghost pipefish, leafy scorpion fish and lace scorpion fish. Vertical Gardens is only accessible on a handful of days every year: this dive site is home to a herd of large green bump head parrotfish.

Steve's Bommie: On the final day, you will find yourself at one of the Great Barrier Reef's best and most popular sites, Steve's Bommie. This site is a photographers dream! It's hard to put into the words the quantity and variety of Great Barrier Reef fish and corals that you will see here. A showcase of the best of the best.

Courtesy transfers are provided from the vessel to the main city office, inner city hotel locations and the Cairns Domestic and International Airports.  Itinerary is subject to change dependant on weather conditions.

Club Cabin: Twin share/bunk beds - private bathroom

Standard Cabin: Twin share/Single beds - private bathroom and ocean view

Important Note: Due to light aircraft weight restrictions, your total luggage weight is limited to 20 kilograms/ 45 lb per person. We request that bags be soft sided.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be advised in writing. If a passenger wishes to cancel a reservation the cancellation terms are as per the booking form. Less than 60 days prior to departure - forfeit 50% of trip fee per person. Less than 30 days prior to departure - forfeit 100% of trip fee per person.
