On Spirit of Freedom you can choose between three different trip options. The 3 or 4 day trips include a spectacular one-way scenic flight between Cairns and Lizard Island. If you decide to book the seven-day experience, you depart from and return to Cairns on Spirit of Freedom to the Cairns Trinity Wharf.

3 Day/3 Night Ribbon Reef Adventure: Up to 11 dives

Dive the world famous Cod Hole and turquoise waters of the Ribbon Reefs, an ecosystem of unsurpassed marine diversity and exquisite natural beauty. You will encounter a family of giant potato cod, clouds of colourful tropical fish, anemones, turtles, olive sea snakes, and pristine coral gardens.

Dive level recommendation
For the Ribbon Reef itinerary, the minimum level is Open Water Diver (up to 18m), with a minimum of 10 ocean dives including 5 dives in the last 12 months. Scuba Diver is not accepted.

4 Day/4 Night Coral Sea and Ribbon Reefs: Up to 15 dives

Take a scenic flight to Lizard Island to begin your diving at the very top of the Ribbon Reefs, on the Great Barrier Reef. Suitable for the more experienced diver, this tour travels 200km offshore to the oceanic wilderness of Australia’s Coral Sea, where ancient volcanic atolls plummet to thousands of metres below.

7 Day/7 Night Ribbon Reef and Coral Sea Adventure: Up to 26 dives

Combine our 3 and 4 night itineraries into a 7-day, 7-night liveaboard dive expedition from Cairns, taking in the vibrant and abundant marine life at the Ribbon Reefs and Cod Hole. You’ll also spend two days at the world-renowned Osprey Reef in the remote Coral Sea.

This itinerary is comprised of the three day plus four day itineraries. No flights included, departure from and return to Cairns Trinity Wharf onboard of Spirit of Freedom

Ocean View Deluxe Cabin

This cabin is located on the top deck with internal stairwell access to the main deck, as well as external access to the top deck and dive deck. It is a spacious 8.5 square metres in area (not including the bathroom, an additional 2 square metres) and contains a double bed, bedside tables, writing desk, wardrobe, and 26″ flat screen TV. It is fully air-conditioned and has its own private bathroom. Double Occupancy only: no twin share option available.

Ocean View Standard Cabin

This cabin is located on the top deck with internal stairwell access to the main deck, as well as external access to the top deck and dive deck. It is 5.2 square metres in area (not including bathroom, an additional 2 square metres) and contains a double bed, a wardrobe, and 26” flat screen TV. It is fully air-conditioned and has its own private bathroom. Double Occupancy only: no twin share option available.

The Stateroom

This cabin is located in a private area on the lower deck, close to the dive deck and dining saloon. It is a spacious 9.2 square metres in area (not including bathroom, an additional 2.8 square metres) and contains a queen size bed, extra shelving, wardrobe, bedside tables and 26″ flat screen TV. It is fully air-conditioned and has its own private bathroom. Double Occupancy only: no twin share option available.

Standard Double or Twin Share

Spirit of Freedom has seven standard double or twin share cabins. Five of these cabins contain a double bed with a single bed over the top, bunk style. One cabin contains just a double bed and one cabin has two single beds. Please advise your preference for double or twin share when placing your booking. These cabins are all located on the lower deck, with easy access to the main deck. They are an average 7.2 square metres in area, (not including bathroom, an additional 1.8 square metres), are fully air-conditioned and also contain a wardrobe, bedside table and private bathroom.  

Triple share in Double/Twin - 2 people pay twin share, 1 person pays quad share rate

Quad Share Cabin

Spirit of Freedom has one quad share cabin containing four single beds, bunk style. This cabin is located midships on the lower deck, with easy access to the main deck. It is 7.2 square metres in area, (not including bathroom, an additional 1.8 square metres), is fully air-conditioned and also contains a wardrobe and private bathroom.
