The Cairns Region has some of the best whitewater rafting in the country. Wildside Adventures ensures to give you a thrill to remember, offering exhilarating rides through the great rapids of the Tully River on its special 2 person sports rafts.

From Cairns, you drive for about 2 and a half hours to the Tully River which offers spectacular white water rafting opportunities. Wildside Adventures has carefully selected and well-trained guides to accompany you on your river rafting adventure. We also supply life jackets (PFDs) which are specifically intended for the Whitewater conditions.

You bring your own shoes which must be able to handle wet conditions. If you do not have proper shoes, we can supply them on the day you undertake your adventure.

 

Half Day Sports Rafting Trips

If you are a bit unsure about your rafting trip, or you are a first-time rafter, you can go on a half day thrill on the Tully River. The half-day trip on the Tully can be undertaken any time of the year as water levels are controlled by daily water releases. Grade 2 – 3 rapids.

 

Full Day Sports Rafting Trips

On the Tully River, you can get an exciting full day of the best water rafting Cairns has to offer with Grade 3 rapids on offer. This means that you get more excitement, more of a challenge and more foaming rapids. For beginners who do not mind some adrenaline rush, this might be the ideal trip to take.

 

Half Day Self Drive:

9.00 am or 12.00 pm start

Full Day Self Drive:

12km of fun

Rapid grades 2,3

Lunch – Fresh salad, roast meat wraps and condiments

8.00 am start

Minimum age 6 years

 

What to Bring:

  • Change of clothes (wet set/dry set)
  • Plastic bag for wet clothes
  • Towel
  • Baseball cap to fit under your helmet
  • Sunscreen (don’t apply to forehead and back of legs)
  • Waterproof Camera
  • Enclosed footwear or sandals
  • Personal insect repellent
  • Waiver of liability to be signed before participation
  • Your Go pro (we have mounts on some helmets so make sure you have the correct attachment for your go pro) n.b. Taking your Go Pro or any other device is at your own risk, we will endeavor to provide backup ties etc to secure it, but please make sure your device is insured for rafting.
