1 Day Cooktown 4WD Tour

In this purpose built 4WD vehicle your small tour group travels north along the scenic coastal Captain Cook Highway with the only company which does the full Bloomfield track on a regular basis. The guides are experienced and capable and filled with local knowledge. Experience 4 wheel driving on dirt roads, with river crossings, have lunch at an true Australian pub, view the incredulous Black Mountains (and yes they are very black it's not just a term).

Get free time in Cooktown Australia to explore the history of Captain James Cook at the museum dedicated to the history of his arrival and influence on this great township. Meet friendly locals and hear their stories and their love for this town. Go up to the Grassy Hill lookout, view the ‘Queens Steps', see the monuments erected in honour of the good captains landing place or just plain relax on the grass and enjoy the ocean breezes on your face.

The  journey back to Cairns takes the inland route to ensure you don't repeat any earlier experience, the landscape changes remarkably from the coastal drive.
