Cape York 7 Day Motorcycle Adventure

Day 1:

You will meet your group at 8am by the Cairns Esplanade for your tour briefing and team introduction. We then head north along the Captain Cook Highway taking in breathtaking views of Cairns very own ‘Great Ocean Road’. We stop at the Rex's lookout for a break and some pictures of the spectacular Coral Sea, then it’s back on the bikes as we make our way to the Daintree National Park. We stop for lunch at the Daintree Village before we take either the Creb or Bloomfield track further north.

Option 1 - The Creb Track (Inland)

This 71km track is slippery, muddy with steep ups and downs and water crossings with great views in the heart of the rainforest, the Creb Track is only open in the dry season almost impossible when wet.

Option 2 - The Bloomfield Track (The coastal road)

31km of rough unsealed road with steep inclines, descents and creek crossings, we will stop for a quick refreshment stop at Wujal Wujal.

Overnight at the Lions Den: Great food, hot showers with a welcoming atmosphere! You might fancy a dip in the local creek before dinner.

Day 2:

We are up early for a cooked breakfast then we're off to explore Cooktown and the awesome view from Grassy Hill Lookout. We then we have a long ride ahead of us through the Lakefield National Park.

Overnight at Musgrave station: Musgrave was first built as an overland telegraph station in 1887, Musgrave is about halfway between Cairns and “The Tip” so has been the resting place for many travellers.

Day 3:

We depart Musgrave station and head to Archer River.

Overnight at Archer River Road House: The Roadhouse is famous for the massive Archer Burger, which can be enjoyed with an ice cold beer.

Day 4 & 5:

We depart for Bramwell Junction. Located at the intersection of the Bamaga Road and the start of the famous Old Telegraph Line.  We will need a good rest to be up early as we have a massive day ahead.

The OTL is accessible during the dry season, but if there has been some wet weather the water crossings get too deep to cross so we will take one of the bypass roads instead. We also stop at the iconic Fruit Bat Falls for a swim. This natural weir is croc-free and is a few kilometres from the junction of the Southern Bypass Road and the OTL. It has plenty of shady picnic tables, making it the ideal place for a pit stop. We then take the Jardine River ferry crossing and overnight in Bamaga.

Accommodation Bramwell Station and Bamaga.

Day 6:

After breakfast its only 30km to the tip! Pajinka is the traditional name for the northernmost point of mainland Australia at the top of the Cape York Peninsula. After photos and a beer to celebrate we head back to our accommodation for lunch then there's something very cool planned, we have a helicopter booked for flights over the tip!

It's our farewell dinner and a chance to remember what we have achieved it's been hard at times but well worth the effort, a trip of a lifetime we've all made new friends and a stack of awesome memories, on a trip full of adventure.

Accommodation at Punsand Bay
